Moving to an apartment on the top floor comes with some perks: no overhead footsteps, better heat retention for warmer winters, and more safety from break-ins than ground floor units.  But getting your stuff up several flights of stairs on move in day won’t exactly be a breeze.  Moving to a top floor apartment can be rough unless you follow these simple moving tips. 

Streamline your move
If you’re moving to an apartment on the top floor, you should do everything within your power to make your move as easy as possible.  That means doing some planning to streamline all aspects of your move.

The process of streamlining your move to a top-floor apartment starts in your current place.  Before you pack a single box, do some preparatory decluttering.  Go through each room and decide which items should be kept, which should be trashed, and which should be donated to charity.  If you take the time to pare down your belongings, you’ll save yourself valuable time (and money!) on moving day.  Declutter now so you have fewer items to pack and move.
